The Phone Relocation Tool facilitates the phone rollout and phone move process. It is especially designed for the following two use cases.
1. Pave the way for an easy rollout in your company! Record all new IP Phones with dummy MAC addresses and appropriate line configurations in the BAT Tool. After pushing the bulk information to the Cisco Unified Communications Manager, activate the 'auto registration' and add an enterprise IP Phone Service. When the preconfiguration has been successfully completed, the rollout can start. All new phones may be operated at any desk. At this stage, the Phone Relocation Tool becomes relevant. After executing the IP Phone Service, two inputs are necessary: Firstly, the directory number that shall be available on this phone. And secondly, a pin that prevents the application from unauthorized access. The Phone Relocation Tool gets all the information from the preconfigured dummy phone and pushes this configuration to the actual one.
Benefit: Telephones are placeable at any workplace. The configuration of phones with a specific user phone number becomes redundant.
2. Nowadays, everyone is mobile! To avoid unnecessary configuration changes, use the Phone Relocation Tool to move an existing phone configuration onto the phone of an employee's new workplace. The administrator calls the IP Phone Service of the new place of work and allocates the respective phone number. After this process, the employee's phone configuration is immediately available at the new workplace.
Benefit: Reduce configuration changes in the Cisco Unified Communications Manager to a minimum.
